You're Engaged

Now What?

Being engaged is one of the best parts of a wedding. You get time to just be together, let people be excited for you, and look forward to the most important day of your life.

Engagement sessions are some of my favorite things to shoot, because it gives you time to be together, show your love, and for most couples it really makes it "set in" that you are actually getting married.

WHAT TO WEAR

01

Palettes Matter

COLORS THAT GO

What you wear is ultimately up to you, but I can give you advice on what types of colors go together in terms of aesthetically pleasing photos.

Rich tones: Mustard, Burnt Orange, Maroon, Navy, Brown, Black, Deep Purple, Hunter Green

Moody + Neutral: Beige, Ivory, Grey, Dusty Rose, Black, Olive, Lavender,

02

Photos should focus on YOU

Keep Patterns to a Minimum

In your photos you want YOU to standout, not your outfit. With too many patterns, it distracts from the subject of the photo. If you want to incorporate plaid, polka dots, or eye-catching patterns, have one of you wear that, and the other a very plain item. Make sure the colors don't clash together if you do this. Aim for neutral, darker colors.

03

and the weather!

Think About Your Environment

If you pick a forest, wooded setting--think about dark, rich colors that stand out with a green background.

If you pick a beach setting, think of creams, ivory, and neutral colors.

If its winter, be sure to dress for the weather. Layers are best, and cozy sweaters and blankets make for great props.

If you are aiming for a dress--try long, light, and airy so it can blow in the wind and we can get some awesome shots.

What I Wore to My Own Session

JUST BE YOU

For my own engagement session I wore what made me feel comfortable and reflected my personality and who we are as a couple. That was flannel, boots, and complementing colors.

If you aren't sure, just shoot me an email, I can help!

Ok!
