We're just a guy and a girl who like to capture emotion and climb mountains in the process.

When Desiree reached out to me about eloping having never been to Virginia before, I could tell by our conversation that we were kindred souls. Her and Forrest were from North Dakota, and had never been to Virginia before—were planning to come here for a concert and to sightsee so thought they may as well […]

Michelle and Paul were like Dylan and I’s twins. Michelle emailed me about a hiking elopement and said, “I just want to have fun. We are low key, I’m not even worrying about my hair.” GIRL, same. They were such a joy to work with—from planning and picking a location, to joking about how we […]

I don’t think it gets more intimate than a cabin elopement. In the heart of Purceville, Virginia, Montcalm Farm sits on 200 private acres and houses a 1725 historically preserved cabin perfect for an intimate wedding. Dakota and Carling showed such true love.

Tiffany and Joseph’s fall Deep Run Park elopement was definitely one for the books. I was so thrilled to hear they picked Deep Run Park, because I feel like it is so under-utilized in our area and is so pretty! They had absolute perfect weather–and peak fall colors in November because of how late they changed this year. Her Mom described her as the ultimate “budget bride”, and damn did she do a good job. Her flowers were from a local friend and were stunning, and her dress was a favorite of mine from LuLu’s. I was so grateful to witness their true love and joy and to be able to take them around the woods for a mini adventure!

“Climb the mountain not to plant your flag, but to embrace the challenge, enjoy the air and behold the view. Climb it so you can see the world, not so the world can see you. ”
Shenandoah National Park has so many places that are perfect for a mountain elopement. Hiking adventure elopements don’t seem to be too popular in Virginia, but I can’t understand WHY! How cool is it to get up at sunrise, hike in the solitude of the mountains with your soulmate, and say your vows at Blue Ridge Mountain summit? I may be biased because I myself eloped in Colorado at 12,000 feet, but to me, it just feels so special.
It has been so warm this fall that we hiked High Top Mountain in mid-October and it was warm, and the leaves hadn’t begun to change yet! However, we caught the cold front coming in and got to witness one of the first ever cloud inversions I have seen in the valley. The backdrop made for a heaven like background, and we were quite literally in the clouds.
Interested in eloping? Let me help you!
